My name is Diane Ramsay and I have been training and competing in athletics for over 10 years.My main event is 400m and my personal best is 53.61 seconds. My best sporting achievement is representing Scotland at the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games as part of the 4x400m relay team. This was an amazing experience and I was so proud to be part of a home Games!I’m aiming to represent Scotland at the next Commonwealth Games at the Gold Coast, Australia in 2018.
Training for my sport is very intense and I have to train 6 days a week and my sessions include track work, weights, circuits, hills and some pool work too. Nutrition is a key part of my athletics lifestyle and aids recovery after each training session.Every week, I’ll keep you updated on my progress and also tell you some of the typical meals I eat before and after training.
