Scotch Pie Award for Muirhead Butcher!!

S Collins & Son of Muirhead scooped two awards at this year's World Pie Championships. The award winning Butcher picked up a Gold Medal for their tasty home-made Scotch Pie and a Runner - Up for their infamous Forfar Bridie. Stewart commented 'We have perfected our recipe over the last 20 years and only use the choicest cuts and best seasonings to give our customers a tasty and wholesome pie'

Success at Butchers Shop of Year Awards!!!

S Collins & Son have tasted success in the Butcher Shop of the Year competition 2009, held in the Sheraton Mayfair Hotel in London on Tuesday 17/11/09. The family run butchers from Muirhead, was placed Runner Up in the prestigious competition. The Muirhead butchers impressed the judges in the competition that attracted over 100 entries from all over Scotland. When it comes to quality Steak Pies S Collins & Son have it covered. Their Steak Pies were judged for appearance, baking, shape and size, pastry thickness, texture and flavour, filling, steak quality, consistency of gravy, balance of meat to gravy, seasoning, taste and appeal.
