LOCAL BUTCHER IS FINALIST IN BUTCHER’S SHOP OF THE YEAR AWARDS 2012 

Local butcher S Collins & Son is celebrating after being named as finalist in the Butcher’s Shop of the Year Awards 2012, a prestigious national competition.

S Collins & Son a Q Guild butcher based in Muirhead, Glasgow are finalists for the fourth successive year, which is open to butchers from all over the UK. 

Organised by the Meat Trades Journal, the Butcher’s Shop of the Year Awards cover butchers’ shops around the country, and aim to highlight the best businesses in butchery, attracting some of the best operators in the UK. 
The winner from each regional category will go head-to-head to see which one is declared the overall best butcher’s shop in the UK. The judges visit each shop in a bid to select the category winners. 

The family run business established 58 years ago, S Collins & Son the current West of Scotland Steak Pie Champion has won a raft of awards in recent years and has just received a double A audit standard in Quality Standards and Health & Hygiene in a recent external audit.
