Friday, the 7th of March, had many of Scotland’s businesses on the edge of their seats. The Lanarkshire Business Excellence Awards Ceremony, taking place at the Motherwell Concert Hall, named the best of the best in ten different categories.

Finalists in one of the most competitive categories, the Food and Drink Award, local butchers S Collins and Son waited anxiously for the results, after having made it through the two preliminary stages. The competing businesses were two well-established and successful contestants, which made winning in the category all the more satisfying for the family-run butcher, according to owner S Collins.

“Competing against the businesses in our category was no easy task, and I think the finalists all deserve congratulations. But we such a devoted team and loyal customers behind us, we knew we could do it! ”

The prizes are an important yearly distinction, recognising excellence among local businesses and rewarding the ones that include an innovative spirit while remaining faithful to their core principles. For S Collins and Son, these were quality produce, sustainable, local sourcing and excellent customer service.
