With many celebrations for the meat industry through the year, maybe none is as important as National Butchers Week. The Meat Trades Journal started the tradition seven years ago, wanting to promote the skills of butchers UK-wide. Part of its mission is encouraging everyone to seek out and try their local butcher as an alternative supermarkets, as both the products and the practice are better quality and more reliable.

Participating in the celebrations, local butcher S Collins & Son has a lovely surprise in store for their customers. All through next week, anyone coming in the shop will be invited to raise a glass of champagne on the house for country-wide butchers!

The high-quality butcher shop is looking forward to next week’s events, and, as a thank you to their customers, they will offer every customer who spends over £25 in the shop a £5 voucher to use the next time they’re shopping! A great cause for celebration in the community and a chance to promote healthy cooking to the younger generation, National Butcher’s Week calls for celebrations!

S Collins & Son is a family ran butcher shop based in Glasgow. With locally sourced meat and fresh, home made products, the shop has been voted Scottish Butcher of the Year for 2012/2013 and has won the Business Excellence Award for Food and Drink in the 2014 Lanarkshire awards.
