The stunning walls of the London Rosewood Hotel hosted as much talent as they did nerves this November, with all of the UK’s finest butchers awaiting the results for the trade’s most prestigious competition. Stewart Collins, owner of the Glasgow-based S Collins & Son, was amongst the hopeful participants. Whether his shop’s excellent performance in the previous 3 years made him more or less nervous is hard to guess. But what is clear is that, when the winners were announced, the Scottish butcher shop proved yet again that it is one of the best and most inspiring businesses in the country.
Being announced the runner-up for Butcher Shop of the Year for the second time was a great result, but it was overshadowed by the shop overtaking all the national competition to win the Innovation of the Year Award for their Gold Card scheme, a new innovative take on the loyalty card that provides their customers with both online and offline offers from the shop and its partners.
S Collins & Son managed to impress the judges both by the quality of their products as well as through the continued effort they do to provide more for their customers, in terms of both products and service. The shop’s continued excellent performance in the meat industry proves they deserve to stand with the best.
