Stewart Collins, the shop’s managing partner, has made it no secret that he cares as much about the quality of the shop’s products and service as he cares about making a contribution to the community to which he owes his success.
This, along with wanting to promote healthy cooking in the local community,are the chief reasons why 6 local schools will be treated to expert cooking demos from the 15th to the 17th of June. The demos will be entirely free or the schools, S Collins & Son having invited a professional chef TV Adrian Martin to carry them out for the children, parents and staff. These educational and engaging demos are hoped to help give the kids and parents some ideas for fun, healthy meals made with fresh ingredients.
The schools events aren’t all however, with the TV chef looking forward to meet locals at the cooking demo fundraisers being held on Tuesday 16th June at Stepps Parish Church In aid of The Stepps Parish Church Roof Fund & Wednesday 17th June at The Knights of St Columba for The Criaghalbert Centre in Cumbernauld, (http://www.craighalbert.co.uk/) which is a charity for children with motor impairments. With a focus on healthy eating and local produce, these demos will be a unique opportunity for residents to try out something different happening right on their doorstep. Like with any fundraisers, raffle prizes and tombolas will be part of the nights’ offering.
Tickets for the both events are priced at £5 each with all proceeds going the relevant causes & can be bought from The Craighalbert Centre,Cumbernauld S Collins & Son Muirhead & Stepps Parish Church. Tickets are limited in numbers so be quick!!
