We are delighted to let everyone know that the fund raising campaign for a new defibrillator to be located at our shop has been successful. The new defibrillator has now been installed and is available to be used for anyone who needs it in an emergency.

We were proud to be associated with the ‘Save A Life Campaign’, which was backed by celebrity Carol Smillie. As part of this campaign we set about raising £2,000 in order to be able to site a defibrillator at the shop. The money was raised by a series of fund raising activities such as; face painting donations, donations that we made from each Christmas Hamper we sold and also donations which were great fully received from members of the local community.

The campaign started in 2019 but the advent of the COVID pandemic has seen a delay in us reaching our target and getting the machine installed…but we made it in the end. This machine provides our community with a fantastic resource which could, ultimately, save someone’s life.

Speaking about the installation of the defibrillator, Stewart Collins (Senior Partner, S. Collins & Son) said “We are delighted to have finally reached our fund raising target and get this potentially life saving machine installed. A big thank you goes to all our staff & members of our community who have contributed to our fund raising activities along the way, without your generosity it simply would not have been possible”.
