On Sunday 12th May the city of Perth hosted the Scottish Federation Meat Trade Fair, an event which brings together the best butchers in Scotland and has their very best products compete for a Gold Medal. On this occasion, S Collins & Son, your local butcher, had an extraordinary performance, managing to win three Gold Medals.Â
These were awarded for three new, exciting products which were deemed the best by the judges. The three are the Ultimate Burger – slightly seasoned 100% prime scotch beef 6oz,Â
Chicken Cushion – boneless double breast of chicken, stuffed with seasoned pork,wrapped in streaky bacon & coated in a sea salt & black lampong olive oil and Chicken Lattice – boneless breast of chicken encased in a light puff pastry with a garlic and mushroom sauce.Â
This performance shows once again the very high standard of products and practice the shop employs on a daily basis, which makes it clearly competitive on a national level. The achievement is testimony not only to the excellent, locally sourced ingredients S Collins & Son uses, but also to the competence and discipline of its staff and managers.Â
The three gold medalists which impressed the judges and are this year’s best in Scotland are all available for purchase in store.Â
