Popeseye steak is thinly sliced rump steak, with it's name originating in Scotland. This is a large juicy steak which is perfect for frying resulting in a great taste.
This is a versatile and tasty frying steak cut from the lower back of the animal.Cut from the rump, these steaks are lean and full of flavour and are great for frying, grilling or barbecuing.
We think our Popeseye steak is a great steak served on its own, or cut into strips and used for a deliciious steak sandwich – or in your favourite stir-fry or fajitas!
This steak is quick and easy for beginners.
|Suggested Cooking Instructions||Ensure the steak is at room temperature before cooking.
Rare: 2 ½ minutes each side.
Medium: 4 minutes each side.
Well Done: 6 minutes each side.
For a medium rare steak, ensure the popeseye core has reached a temperature of 52°C.
Allow the steaks to sit in a warm place for half their cooking time before serving.
We recommend use of a meat thermometer for best results.
